Why give to AFS Australia?

AFS Australia is a registered not-for-profit and charitable organisation and operates the AFS Scholarship Fund, endorsed by the Australian Tax Office as a deductible gift recipient (DGR) under the Income Assessment Act 1997. Donations to the AFS Scholarship Fund are 100% tax deductible, and, within the provisions of the Fund, are used to provide scholarships to Australian students to participate in an AFS program abroad.

Unless specified otherwise by the donor, donations received will be deposited in the Fund and receipts issued in the name of the Fund for tax-claim purposes. General donations to AFS Australia outside the Fund for other purposes cannot be claimed by the donor as a tax deduction.

Who benefits?

Depending on the value of your donation, it will either be used individually or in conjunction with other donations to fund scholarships for AFS outbound programs to Australian students, on the basis of merit and/or financial need.
