By giving to AFS Australia you help make intercultural learning experiences possible for aspiring young Australians.

When you donate to AFS Australia you become part of a global community who support AFS in our work to connect lives and share cultures. Your donation will help to transform the lives of AFS participants, families, communities and other individuals who share a commitment to help build international understanding by helping people from different parts of the world live an intercultural learning experience.

Why give to AFS Australia?

AFS Australia is a registered not-for-profit and charitable organisation and operates the AFS Scholarship Fund, endorsed by the Australian Tax Office as a deductible gift recipient (DGR) under the Income Assessment Act 1997. Donations to the AFS Scholarship Fund are 100% tax deductible, and, within the provisions of the Fund, are used to provide scholarships to Australian students to participate in an AFS program abroad. In 2018 and early 2019, AFS Australia is delighted to be a part of the Faces of the World campaign, in which every dollar donated to AFS Australia is matched by funds from our international headquarters.

Unless specified otherwise by the donor, donations received will be deposited in the Fund and receipts issued in the name of the Fund for tax-claim purposes. General donations to AFS Australia outside the Fund for other purposes cannot be claimed by the donor as a tax deduction.

Funds matching in 2018

Over the next five years, AFS is investing up to USD$1 million in the AFS Faces of the World campaign to expand access to intercultural education for under-served and under-represented students. In Australia, this means if you donate to AFS Australia in 2018 through to 31 March 2019, your contribution will be ‘matched’ – dollar for dollar – by AFS’ international headquarters.

Who benefits?

Depending on the value of your donation, it will either be used individually or in conjunction with other donations to fund scholarships for AFS outbound programs to Australian students, on the basis of merit and/or financial need.

How can you give to AFS Australia?

You can make a one-off or regular monthly donation to the AFS Scholarship Fund. Your donation to the Fund can be claimed by you as a tax deduction.

If you wish to make a donation to AFS Australia outside the fund for other purposes, please email AFS Australia. Please note that these donations cannot be claimed by the donor as a tax deduction.
