Project Overview

This initiative is led by our community project organization partner in Bogor, West Java, who focuses their effort in giving the underprivileged youth practical skills such as basic IT/Web design, film/photography, music/art/writing, sewing/cooking/gardening techniques, as well as English language to find suitable opportunities for employment or further education.

The project is about instilling aspiration to marginalized youths that they can change their lives and that nothing is impossible.

Since being established in 2002, the community project organization we worked with has developed eight training programs to equip the marginalized youths with knowledge to prepare them in joining the workforce and improve their living conditions. The program manages training initiatives such as city tour service business, online store for textile and handcrafting products, and graphic design company.

The organization has also sponsored many families to send their children to public schools.

Project Highlight

As a volunteer, you will work in the field of creative education. You will be able to help the marginalized youth to learn important skills which will help them in finding jobs or set up projects to generate their own income. You will also have a chance to inspire the local people, through your own experience and culture.

You will participate directly in the regular knowledge sharing programs in various practical fields, based on the skill(s) you have. You will also be expected to share stories about your culture so the youth learners can learn about different culture settings.
