Retro Charm, Farm-Fresh Delights, and Treehouse Adventures Await at North Carolina's Vintage Trailer Resort

North Carolina leaves a lasting impression with its diverse landscapes, from the rolling plains of Piedmont to the hidden treasures in the majestic Blue Ridge Mountains. Tucked away in this scenic and natural splendor is Asheville, a colorful city known for its creativity, unique shops, and thriving music and food scene. Sitting just 12 miles north, in Weaverville, North Carolina, Junebug Retro Resort offers a nostalgic escape to visitors on a 50-acre property set against the calming Flat Creek. This unique venue, designed to evoke the mid-20th century, blends vintage charm with natural beauty, making it an ideal retreat for those desiring to unplug.

The easiest way to reach the resort is by flying into Asheville Regional Airport, about a 30-minute drive from the resort. Choose to rent a car for flexibility, as the resort is a short 20-minute drive from downtown Asheville, where there is much to explore. The best time to visit Junebug is from April to October, during opening hours. Spring, from April to June, or fall from September to October, offer the mildest temperatures and vibrant spring blooms or fall leaf peeping opportunities. The resort thrives in the summer as well, when creek-side hangs are more than welcome.

The charm of the resort stems from its ability to transport guests back in time. With no modern structures in sight, the resort’s restored vintage campers, organic farm, and whimsical treehouse create a serene and retro oasis. Offering visitors memorable opportunities to escape modernity into nature and nostalgia through a weekend getaway, a quaint wedding, or a team-building corporate event.

Retro accommodations and unique amenities

Junebug Retro Resort immerses visitors in a 1950s-inspired retreat. Its fleet of 10 meticulously restored vintage campers, including models like the Pink Shasta, the Airflyte, and the Spartan Tandem, features checkered floors, chrome accents, and colorful vinyl seating. Each camper sleeps two to six guests, is equipped with air conditioning, a bathroom, refrigerator, and hot and cold running water, seamlessly blending retro aesthetics with modern comfort. Tent camping is also available if the trailers are booked, and all camper rentals include daytime access to the resort’s enchanting treehouse from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The treehouse, a two-story wonder supported by ancient red oak trees, offers stunning views of the Pisgah Mountains and the surrounding forest canopy. It’s upper level accessible by a charming spiral staircase complete with fairy lights, it’s a dreamy spot for relaxation or special events. The luxurious bathhouse elevates the experience with subway tile showers, air conditioning, and a sound system, ensuring comfort with enjoyment. Across the river, the Creek Lounge, open Thursday nights and all day Sundays, invites guests and the public to unwind at the 1960 Airstream clamshell bar, sip drinks under large walnut trees, and enjoy live music out of the back of a 1953 Ford flatbed truck. Lounge chairs, lawn games, rotating food trucks, and a complete event list complete this laid-back vibe.
